The Flatirons Horror!
While visiting Colorado, walking past giant intimidating mountains, I imagined a creature that contains natural elements, while also being completely eerie and alien.
Made from two full environments, and a full creature anim-rig.
Both Landscapes started in Houdini, thanks to the fine tune control the height maps provide. Hero Props and creature hand-sculpted in Zbrush, and baked in either Substance (Props) or Marmoset (Creature).
I have been working on this project on-and-off for about a year of my gnomon career, between learning everything required, from rigging and skinning, Realtime FX, animation, environment art, and layout. I'm very happy I was able to bring all the skillsets together at the end.
I learned so so much during the creation of this project, and I couldn't be more thankful to all my teachers and peers who helped me along my journey, I've learned so much more than just 3D from Gnomon!
